To install the Pedestiran Barrier the following equipment will be required:

Power Drill
12mm Masonry/Concrete drill bit, 120mm long
19mm spanner
Torque wrench, max. torque>35Nm
Hammer
Rubber Mallet
Marker pen
Suitable personal protection equipment

A rubber mallet may be necessary to properly locate the rail onto the posts and for inserting the post/rail locking pins.
1. Place an end post on the floor with the holes for the rails pointing upwards. 2. Insert the rails into the holes one by one.
3. Place the next post on the ground, pick up the assembly you have just built and lower the rails into the slots on the new post. Alternatively leave the assembly you have just built on the floor and place the slots on the new post over the rails. 4. Turn the unit so it is standing without support on the post base plates.
5. Align the holes in the rail ends by looking down the post. Insert the locking pin and guide through all of the rails. A mallet may need to be used to encourage location. 6. Build up another post and rail unit.
7. Insert the rails of the new unit into the holes on the post of the first unit. It helps if you insert the rails one at a time by angling the unit being located. 8. Insert the locking pin to lock the two units together. Repeat steps 6 & 7 until the entire barrier length is assembled.
9. The assembled run should finish with an end or gate post. Check that the locking pins are sitting flush to the inside walls of all the posts. Where necessary pull the posts as far apart from each other as possible.
10. The post base plates can now be anchored. Using the base plate as a template drill 4 holes into sound concrete using a 12mm masonry drill bit to a minimum depth of 100mm. Secure the base plates using M12 fixing bolts tightening as per the manufacturers recommendations. Suitable high quality fixing bolts are available from A-Fax Ltd. 11. Finally fit the post cap. Place on top of the post and using a rubber mallet tap the cap on each of its' four corners in turn until the cap is fully inserted into the post.
